I am listening to
this album, and like the tone of this last week -- exciting, heartbreaking, hopeful and dejected -- it's bringing me all around. All of the negativity that has built up this last week is being channeled into making next week one of the best weeks of the year.
Game Developer's Conference 2010, here I come!
The UN Project, Fit Brains work, Production II project and GDC prep has kept my mind very busy and sleepy, but I welcome it greatly.

AWESOME album! Crunchy, larger than life...
I imagine walking down very, very, very long street. As my journey begins, the music is "normal": standard instruments, drums, etc. As I get farther and farther down the street, the music gets louder, more glitchy, like a CD I've carved my initials into. As the sounds begin lose their clean "roundness", starting to fray around the edges, I feel them build in intensity, punching their way deep into my consciousness.
The streetlights start to flicker and pop. The movement of cars, people stutters and shifts, jitter like frames in a movie placed in the wrong order. My life begins to do the same. Past, present, and even future, mix into this moment, until everything is just an explosion of jumbled sound and fragments of light, careening around in my head - bursts of chaos layered in neat, orderly rhythms.
This is my life - crazy and unpredictable, seemingly random, and yet it begins to make sense, the further I get into it...
